Tik-Tak of the Clock

The biggest truth of life
The picture shows the tik-tak of the clock in five steps. I clicked my camera everyday on the same time from the same angle for a period of ten days. Childhood, young age, time for the next generation, everything is covered in a single frame. Green frame is to catch the mood of the picture.

Mother and Child

The greatest Relationship of the universe
a Kolaz with the paintings of Jamini Ray.
I always am a fan of Painting of Jamini Roy. When my wife was expecting a child, a thought came in my mind: a kolaz of mother and child by painting of Jamini Ray. I have chosen some painting, i.e. Parvati-Ganesha, Yasoda-Krishna, Merry and Jesus, tribal woman with her son, etc. The kolaz was created carefully to intact all the characters of the paintings of Jamini Ray. It looks like all the characters are painted on the saree of a sitting woman with her son. Even in the background, the signature of painting of Jamini Ray remains intact.

The greatest bonding
Mother holding her seven days old baby carefully. Dark background has helped to focus only to the theme. Slightly greenish tone is chosen to enhance the depth of the picture.
Window
The picture tells itself the reason to be selected. Rarely I can capture this type of mood of all the peoples in the frame. Outside was little bit overexposed but it can match with the mood of the picture.
Affection
Some picture tells its story itself. I wanted to catch the simplicity of the relationship.
Happiness to get each others company
I like this picture because this was taken by a simply canon A430 digicam, probably not available in the market now. The baby was sleeping just before that. There was lot of hurry, crowd etc. Even the mother could not get time to take the baby. Only for once she hold her baby and I clicked my shutter without checking even the light or surrounding environment. As this is the only picture of this mother and child with me, I had to give some good time in post processing.
Village lady with her daughter in a social gathering
I have chosen this because this is a picture of typical mother with her child of a village in a social gathering. No costly make up, no costly dress, no costly jewellery. A decent saree with decently tied hair, imitation ear ring, sankha-palaa (typical bangles of married Bengali woman). For a child also, a decent looking dress with silver ring on the wrists.

From the Balcony
I like the picture because of the carelessness about the camera. I clicked the camera with her permission. Yet, within few seconds I could take the picture and there was no need of post processing. Just a greenish border to match with their mood.
Goddess of Mother and Child
Among thirty three crores of god and goddess of Hindu, she is goddess of mother and child, named 'Ma Sosthi'. According to myth, by her blessing woman became mother and child remains healthy. After giving birth, new born baby and mother remains inside of a small room, named 'Aatur Ghar' in Bengali. At twenty one day, mother comes outside with her child, takes bath and offer puja to Ma sosthi and pray to take care of her baby lifelong. During puja, newly mother has to give some drops of her breast-milk so that the goddess can give that to other hungry babies. There is no picture available of this goddess, so people imagine her as an ordinary mother with a baby. This is a sculpture of 'Ma sosthi' in my hometown where newly mother prays for her child's health.
